Dyeing Easter Eggs

On Saturday we decided to dye Easter eggs. I saw in the Family fun magazine this really cool way to dye eggs with little kids so they don't get the dye all over and they don't drop the eggs. I went to Target an got some cheap wisks. then you put the eggs inside and then the children can dunk the eggs and no worries. What a great idea. It was wonderful. they each took turns with different colors, but by the second color they said "can we be done" well in the back of my head I thought sure becuase secretly I wanted to dye all the eggs. (He He He.)

Every year in the King house we would try and make the ugliest egg. We would dip it in every color and then again in certain colors that we thought would make it uglier. So we did that and it was really ugly but we thought we could get it uglier so we kept going and everytime it got better. Not what we were trying for.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Anniversary

Today is our 11th Anniversary and like usual something always comes up and we don't get to do what we would really like to do...
This morning Vii had to work and I had to sew(with my mom's help) 8 lava lava's. Then we were going to quickly go get pedicures before Vii had to be at Slap Dance Practice with the Men from the ward at 5:30pm.

I know we were pushing the time but who cares. Well I was late finishing up the Lava Lava's and it was snowing, but Vii still wanted to get our pedicures done, so I quickly dropped Nathan off at Aunt Amy's and then picked Vii up. We got to the place around 5 and by 5:35 people were calling to see where he was. We finished about 6 and rushed over. Yes Vii did get white tips and I have orange toes.

They practiced and looked great. The performance was so good. They had so much fun. Good Job Vii! You guys looked great.

Thanks for 11 wonderful years of great memories and love. I love you and you mean the world to me.

Halloween

So yes I am late on posting but i finally made the time. I think there should be some rule( don't know how it would be monitored but) that life should just slow
down and when we are not slowing down something should make us. Man its almost thanksgiving and i just finished putting all the Halloween stuff out. NEW LAW!!!! All holiday decorations should be kept up all year long. You know how much time it would save all of us and then we would not need storage and we could enjoy the beauty longer.

Weekend away

This past weekend we spent up at Wolf Creek. It was a nice little weekend away. The kids loved it. So I have horrible luck with planning activities. I planned to go to the Tree house Museum and guess what it was closed. They were having a fund raiser inside for adults only. Convenient. Luckily the kids had no clue what is was. So we went to the Dinosaur Museum. I do not like Dinosaurs and Nathan likes them. Poor kid will never know all the names and what they did. He liked all the different statues and the Bear. Yes there is a Bear. I think we spent more time at the playground then actually looking at Dinosaurs. All that really matters is they all had fun.
We also went swimming and just hung out. It was nice to get away but not be so far away. Luckily Vii got to spend a little time with us. Most of the time he was sleeping. Poor guy.

Nathan got a nice battle wound. All two-year-olds need scars or bruises. He got his. He was sitting at the table and its one of those bench built in seats and the table was either to far and he fell in between the table and bench. OUCH ! Luckily all he needed was a hug and then he was fine. He was more mad we took him from the bench. He wanted to sit on the bench. He is such a character.

Operation "Give Back"

So last year I wanted to give back to the University Hospital for all they did. I tried coming up with different idea's and the one that I liked the most was making blankets for the Preemies. I thought back to when Nathan left the NICU and what I would have wanted. We got a blanket but it was an old used one that the nurse left on the car seat by accident. I have kept that and put it in Nathan's memory box. So this past year me and my family have made blankets. I set a goal of 12 ( one a month) and we actually completed 15 but gave 12. So on Nathan's birthday we went up to the University Hospital's NICU and gave a basket full of blankets. The lady's there were very sweet and said they would have parents come and choose a blanket.
I hope Nathan's understands this someday. I will teach him how to crochet so he can participate or maybe he will come up with his own gift to all the baby's. We will have to see.
When we were going up to the Hospital he started to take the tags off and I told him they were for little baby's and then he gave them big hugs and said "baby, ooh" then he continued to throw them out of the basket and laugh at me. Yes he is TWO!
