Ren Fest 2008

While we were in Texas we went to the Ren Fest (Renaissance). We've heard many things about it and how fun it is. So we were very happy that it was happening while we were there. On Saturday we got there around 11:30am and got to see the parade of all the people. They had awesome costumes. Then we headed over to the jousting tournament. We sat in the area that was rooting for the English team. Our guy won all the events. It's probably because he had such a supportive crowd. :) Then we walked around and tried some Fried Alligator. It was pretty good and no it did not taste like chicken, more like pork. We went over to the area where they have more shops and rides. Vii had to stop and take a picture with this guy. He rocked. Then we went over to the rides and we got to ride an Elephant. Vii , Nathan and I all got to ride on one elephant. It was pretty cool. I do have to say though i sure hope those elephants get paid well. They have to walk about fifty steps for each ride. As soon as you get adjusted on the elephant its time to get back off. Vii got to throw axes. He got three tries to make it in the star. On his second shot it landed perfectly in the star. The reward was a "Free Kiss Card". He could have taken it over and gotten a free kiss from a whench. Man he sure missed out. After that the guys went and shot Bow and Arrows and the kids went in a maze. Shelley and I really wanted to ride the "King Swing" so after the kids were done we went over and rode that. It held 6 of us. It was all done by hand. They hook the bench to a pulley and then yank on the rope and it lets you go. It was so much fun. Once you go through the initial shock then it is so relaxing. We had Shelley, Emily, Kale, Soren, Bailey and I on the the swing.

Trick or Treat

This year we spent Halloween with my sister Shelley's family in Houston, Texas. One of the nice things was the weather was so great that we did not need jackets or thermals or hoods or gloves or scarves. I actually was in a t-shirt and flip-flops :) You get the picture. It was nice and warm. Nathan was a cute Turtle. It was a little big, but he looked so cute in it. He did not love the idea of something being on his head, but after a lot of encouraging words to keep it on he did. Nathan got to actually wear his costume twice. On Thursday we went to a Trunk or Treat and then on Friday we did the actual house trick or treating. He slept through most of it. I finally got him out of the stroller and carried him so he would wake up. He still did not wake up and then i kept whispering in his ear "Look Nathan an Airplane" That finally did it. It was awesome to see so many children out Trick or Treating. Last year there was no one out in Utah.
(Maybe we should come to Texas every year.)

Baker or Drummer

Nathan loves to play in the cupboards. So we have designated the tupperware one his. (He lets us borrow things once in awhile) So Sunday i was doing the dishes and i turn around and there was Nathan making something in his bowl. He was mixing away. Then i gave him a different spatula and then all of a sudden he became a drummer. I do have to say that he seemed to prefer mixing ovet the drumming. That does not mean he is any less quiet becuase he still has the vocal chords and let me tell you they do work.

I spy something White

Do you see what i see? Its wet and white and cold all over? Can you guess? Thats right SNOW!!
On Sunday we were going to a baby blessing for my nephew Cody. When we woke up that morning the ground was white. Not something i want to see in the beginning of October. This is a picture of Nathan in his carseat ready to go.

Grampa I Love You!

This past weekend my dad came to Salt Lake to visit. He arrived Thursday and stayed till Monday. We got lucky becuase he stayed with us. Nathan was a little shy at first. Then towards the end he was just mean. It was so funny nathan likes to crawl up and down the hallway but one time he got halfway down the hall way and Grampa came out of his room and Nathan jetted back the other way.
We have had long talks since then, on how to treat our Family and Friends and that is definetly not one of the ways. So Nathan told me he will be nicer next time.(I swear nathan used those exact words). Dad you are invited back anytime so Nathan can show you his hospitality.

Eat your heart out!!!

So i don't know how many of you are familiar with Chili's "Molten Chocolate Cake" but if you are you know they are addicting. Well years ago Vii bought me mini cake pans so i could profect the cake at home. (These are Vii's favorite) So i have not made them in awhile and Vii wanted some so we took them over to the Marvive's and shared some of our "GOLD" I think they turned out pretty good even though it was served with "FAT FREE ICE CREAM" oops a little mistake but the cake made up for it. It also ment that when we were walking we could stroll instead of brislkly walk. The joys of justification

A Sunday stroll

On sunday afternoons we like to get out and walk. Sometimes we walk in our neighborhood and sometimes in Amy's. We usually walk till its dark or too cold. It was starting to get cold so the kids were nice and bundled. Logan, Nathan, Jonah and Caleb. I think the older boys just like the fact they get to sit a relax while we do all the pushing. Despite what the picture shows Vii does like these walks. :) After the walk the kids are nice and calm and ready for bed. What a great way to end a great weekend.
