Black and White

I love taking Black and White pictures. They show such great character. I think taking the color away makes your eyes really focus on what is there. Here are some of the pictures I took. Trust me there were more but did not want to bore you with them all.

Weekend away

This past weekend we spent up at Wolf Creek. It was a nice little weekend away. The kids loved it. So I have horrible luck with planning activities. I planned to go to the Tree house Museum and guess what it was closed. They were having a fund raiser inside for adults only. Convenient. Luckily the kids had no clue what is was. So we went to the Dinosaur Museum. I do not like Dinosaurs and Nathan likes them. Poor kid will never know all the names and what they did. He liked all the different statues and the Bear. Yes there is a Bear. I think we spent more time at the playground then actually looking at Dinosaurs. All that really matters is they all had fun.
We also went swimming and just hung out. It was nice to get away but not be so far away. Luckily Vii got to spend a little time with us. Most of the time he was sleeping. Poor guy.

Nathan got a nice battle wound. All two-year-olds need scars or bruises. He got his. He was sitting at the table and its one of those bench built in seats and the table was either to far and he fell in between the table and bench. OUCH ! Luckily all he needed was a hug and then he was fine. He was more mad we took him from the bench. He wanted to sit on the bench. He is such a character.

Operation "Give Back"

So last year I wanted to give back to the University Hospital for all they did. I tried coming up with different idea's and the one that I liked the most was making blankets for the Preemies. I thought back to when Nathan left the NICU and what I would have wanted. We got a blanket but it was an old used one that the nurse left on the car seat by accident. I have kept that and put it in Nathan's memory box. So this past year me and my family have made blankets. I set a goal of 12 ( one a month) and we actually completed 15 but gave 12. So on Nathan's birthday we went up to the University Hospital's NICU and gave a basket full of blankets. The lady's there were very sweet and said they would have parents come and choose a blanket.
I hope Nathan's understands this someday. I will teach him how to crochet so he can participate or maybe he will come up with his own gift to all the baby's. We will have to see.
When we were going up to the Hospital he started to take the tags off and I told him they were for little baby's and then he gave them big hugs and said "baby, ooh" then he continued to throw them out of the basket and laugh at me. Yes he is TWO!

Nathan's new pride and JOY

Nathan loves bikes, trucks, buses, and motorcycles. If you heard him all he talks about is "bicicles" meaning motorcycles. Our neighbor tried to take him on a ride and he chickened out. So sad. So for his birthday he got a Radio Flyer scooter and Helmet. He talks about it all the time. When he wakes up his first words are mom any more, it's "cooter". I don't mind being replaced i just wish that scooter could change diapers.

Happy 2nd Birthday

It is official. Nathan is now Two. He has grown up so fast.
I have to tell you about this t-shirt. I saw it in a Family Fun magazine(the Idea) so i thought for Nathan's first Birthday i wanted him to wear something cute. Then this idea popped in my head so i wrote with a bleach pen "I'm" and then drew the cool hand. I think it's so cool. I am going to send it to my sister Shelley so Greyson can wear it (he will be two on the 26th of September) and then she can send it back to Amy so Logan can wear it.(he will be two on the 27th of October) We will call it the "traveling two's shirt".
If you want to make a shirt like this all you need is a bleach pen, chalk,a shirt, and waxed paper. Then draw your design with chalk, put wax paper in between the layers and then draw your design with the bleach pen. Allow it to sit for ten minutes to two hours. Mine took about two hours. Then i washed it by its self and their you go. "Easy as Pie"

Evening at the Park

The weather was so nice and we had nothing to do so we met up with Amy and the kids at the park. We had a lot of fun. They just ran and used up all their energy. (secret to putting kids to bed) This park is fun but is for older children. They have a rock you climb up to get to the slide. Their are no railings or guards. It is pretty scary when they just want to go and be so independent.

Our First Official Camping Trip

We went camping with our ward out somewhere past Park City. It was so much fun. We set up our tent and it started to rain. Then just hung out. Then we went Canoing for the first time for all of us. It was fun. Nathan stood in the middle and at one time he wanted to paddle then he didn't and then he did not want me to touch the paddle. Very opinionated. Then we went up to the fire pit and had smore's. Nathan only wanted "Cackers". He got tired so we put him to bed and then we played some games. We came back to the tent and he had thrown up over his pillow, my pillow his blankets and my blanket. It smelled great and now vii and i would not have a blanket to sleep with. That night was very cold. I did not sleep well. It's the sleep where every 10 minutes you wake up hoping it's morning. Luckily Nathan and Vii were warm. Then in the morning it rained, and rained, and rained. Vii went and packed up and then we left. Nathan was not a happy camper at the end. I told Vii we need to go one more time before it gets to cold so that we don't end the camping experience on a bad note. So if you know of a good place or want to go camping we would love the company.

Daddy time

Since Vii has been off work he has been able to spend more time with Nathan. They went to the Zoo the other day. Nathan loves this time he gets to spend with Daddy. Vii said they watched the Bird show and it was not even over and he fell asleep. That sounds like Nathan.

Were still here

Sorry everyone who reads our blog. We have just been busy and life just sometimes takes over. We had a family reunion catching up is taking longer than I thought.
Nathan is getting so big and will be turning 2 in three weeks. It has been so fast. I have looked back at the past two years and I am so sad it has gone so fast. This picture is old but i saw it on my computer and i had to post it. He was so chubby and Kissable. Look at that boy.
Well he has a few new words that he loves to say... "awesome", "bicicle"(motorcycle), "Papa"(grandpa), "Kis"(Uncle Chris), "soccer ball", "sa"( his teacher Neusa), "ookie" (cookie) - which now his father has taught him how to eat an OREO. Last weekend Vii and Nathan had a moment of sharing OREO's. Vii showed him how to dunk it in milk then eat it. So you can only guess how many he ended up eating.
